We didn't get many pictures of Christmas because we were doing video and also busy opening presents! But here are pix of our Christmas tree both before and after the presents arrived. And then there's a cute video of Owen and Reese opening presents on Christmas Eve….

We had a Christmas potluck at ici which was great fun. With all the kiddos, we had a full house! Here's some pix of everyone (except David who got the date wrong!) enjoying the good food and company.
To celebrate Anne-Marie's birthday and the holiday season, we had a sugar-cookie-makin party at our house. The kids all decorated the cookies and it was great fun. I think more toppings were consumed than not, but they still managed to stick A LOT of stuff on top of the cookies. I think this offends Brian's purist preference when it comes to sugar cookies as he just wants the cookie and the frosting (I know this because I find all the toppings brushed off into the sink as he's eating them)- but I don't care because the kids had a blast putting them together. Owen had an All School Sing-Along on his last day of school before break. The whole school also got to wear jammies for the day, which Owen thought was the coolest thing ever. Reese and I went to watch the sing-along which was very cute.
Halloween this year was a little stressful. Reese came down with a fever in the morning, and after a 911 call (turning blue and non-responsive) and a trip to the ER, it was determined that she had the swine flu. She was so miserable. So, needless to say, her Halloween was spent laying on top of either Brian or I and not wearing her cute bumble bee outfit. Owen did get to dress up though. He went to a party with our neighbors dressed as Iron Man and then he came home and changed into his Wolverine costume for trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. Here are some pix:

It was definitely not the Halloween we were looking forward to – but Owen still got to get out and enjoy the fun, and thankfully Reese is young enough that she really wasn't aware of what she was missing. Next year will be better for sure!
Costumes are big in our house – definitely necessary for running errands out and about…

And then here is Reesey later in the day. She definitely adheres to the idea of "Less is more"…the "Less" being that she has no pants…the "More" being that she has on two different kinds of shoes and carries two purses and a sword…
We went to Seattle to visit our friends the Hipshers, and also to celebrate Brian's 37th birthday. We took the kids to the Seattle Aquarium…here are some pix:
It was a fun trip – nice to the see our friends and spend some time together!
Owen had his first day of Kindergarten this week. He was very excited to go, and even got to ride the bus! Mommy and Daddy were a little nervous, but there was absolutely no anxiety whatsoever on his part. Here are some fun pix from us getting ready to catch the bus.
And then of course we have some silliness from a day of playing with costumes. Owen put on his Mr. Incredible costume from 2 years ago - needless to say I think he's kind of outgrown it! Reesey was in a princess dress and ran around saying "pretty! pretty!".

Summer was fun! Looking forward to a beautiful and exciting fall!

Orion went to rock band camp this summer, and they held a show at Berbati's to showcase what they had been working on all week. All the perfomances were great, but I was so amazed at how talented Orion is! He sounded great and had amazing stage presence. He had teachers, other parents and friends coming up to him afterwards to congratulate him on what a great performance he gave. I wouldn't have been surprised if he started signing autographs. And while we are all a little biased, we all agreed he was the best one up there. Here are pix of the rock star in the family:
